Farewell to Undereye Circles and Bags
Dark circles and undereye bags are very common and affect men and women of all ages and
ethnicities. Sadly for these patients, their eyes will make them look fatigued, somber, and often older
than their actual age. For patients with undereye bags, the excess skin and puffiness can never be
concealed with makeup and can lead to insecurities and self-esteem issues in daily life. Fortunately,
Elements Spa’s board-certified cosmetic plastic surgeon Dr. Adibfar and his team are able to address
patients’ undereye circles and bags safely and efficiently with results that truly shine.
Where Do They Come From?
Patients can have dark circles and undereye bags for many different reasons. Sometimes it’s simply
genetics—physical traits biologically inherited from the family. For others, it could be a
combination of factors including lifestyle (stress, sun damage, poor habits, dehydration), a medical
condition, poor sleep, allergies, or even excessive exposure to screens and technology in general.
How We Can Help
At Elements Spa we’re able to help patients tremendously by addressing their dark circles and
undereye bags with results that truly make them look and feel younger, more refreshed, and
naturally more like themselves. Board-certified cosmetic plastic surgeon Dr. Adibfar addresses these
pesky conditions surgically via blepharoplasty or lower and/or upper eyelid surgery.
Blepharoplasty involves removing any excess under the eyes. For patients with bags under their
eyes, this works incredibly well by safely rejuvenating the undereye via the removal of excess fat
deposits and skin. A blepharoplasty can also remove excess in the upper eyelid so patients with
droopy or hooded eyelids can benefit from having more open, rejuvenated, younger-looking eyes.
The procedure is simple and access to the tissues is via the eyelids so as not to leave any indication
of having had a procedure. Dr. Adibfar’s state-of-the-art technologies and expert techniques allow
for results that heal great and are natural-looking.
Recovery and Results
Recovery from a blepharoplasty is fairly straightforward and by following the detailed instructions
from Dr. Adibfar patients recover easily and efficiently. Within the first week after surgery, patients
can expect swelling, bruising, slight pain (eased with pain medication), and redness which can
appear in the white of the eyes and clear after a couple of weeks. Most of the healing takes
approximately 2-3 weeks however full results will appear after 3-6months.
After a full recovery, patients are thrilled that they no longer see puffy bags or dark undereye circles
that once made them look permanently fatigued, disheartened, and aged. With brighter, more open,
and vibrant-looking eyes, patients feel more confident and revitalized as well as look younger,
happier, and more refreshed.
