Being a mom is hard enough. The daily demands alongside the many lifestyle changes and physical changes can really take a toll on a mother’s self-esteem and confidence in herself and her body. Fortunately, board-certified cosmetic plastic surgeon Dr. Adibfar and his astute surgical team provide mothers with the opportunity to regain their confidence as women alongside motherhood. Mommy Makeovers are some of the most life-changing procedures for our patients at Toronto’s Elements Spa!

Why A Mommy Makeover?

Exercising and eating healthy balanced meals are certainly ideal however sometimes doing all the right things still won’t achieve the physical results we desire. Child-bearing comes with many bodily changes including but not limited to weight gain, hormonal changes, stretch marks, sagging breasts, and physical changes to the genitalia. For these reasons, many mothers turn to plastic surgery to regain, or better yet, improve their pre-baby bodies. This is where the Mommy Makeover comes in!

What Is A Mommy Makeover?

A Mommy Makeover consists of a combination of procedures tailored to the patient. This group of procedures typically includes liposuction, a breast lift, a tummy tuck, and/or reconstructive vaginoplasty. Depending on the combination of procedures chosen the recovery time will vary. Below are some general recovery timelines from a Mommy Makeover.

Post-Op Recovery for Mommy Makeover

Recovery from a Mommy Makeover typically takes 5-7 weeks. Immediately after surgery patients will need someone to act as caregiver for at least 24 hours up to 72 hours. Movement will be limited and bed rest is most needed during the first week of recovery. In the first two weeks, patients can walk around to improve blood circulation however heavy lifting is to be avoided.

After 3-5 weeks patients begin to implement their regular routines once again. Walking is permitted however strenuous activities are still to be avoided. Patients are typically able to drive again and pain medications are typically no longer needed. At the 6-7 week mark patients are usually able to resume their normal daily activities if Dr. Adibfar approves. Healthy lifestyle choices are always highly encouraged and patients are happy to see their bruising and swelling subside.
