If you’re looking for an exceptional treatment to stave off signs of aging in a way this is natural and long lasting, then Elements Spa’s Vampire Lift may be the procedure for you! While its intimidating name may worry some curious patients, the procedure itself is far from daunting and has been used by surgeons to help athletes heal from serious injuries for decades. Only in the last few years have board-certified surgeons used the healing properties of this incredibly beneficial procedure to address aging facial features for results that are natural-looking, and via a procedure that is performed quickly and with minimal downtime. Let’s take a closer look!

The Vampire Lift is a procedure that requires a patient’s own blood, which is then carefully re-injected into areas of the face, hands and décolletage that show subtle or severe signs of aging. Because injections consist of the patient’s own blood, there is little to no risk of reaction, a reassuring certainty when undergoing any facial treatment. Patients looking to address any wrinkles, discolouration, scarring, enlarged pores, poor texture and tone (and many other skin concerns) will benefit greatly from the Vampire Lift.

Before discussing the procedure’s specifics, patients are advised to always seek the expertise of an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon like Elements Spa’s Dr. Adibfar. Dr. Adibfar’s extensive experience with administering injections and surgical facial sculpting has lent him the skill and acquired techniques essential to providing his patients natural-looking results that last.

The procedure begins by carefully removing a small amount of blood from inside the patient’s arm. The blood is then placed in a state-of-the-art centrifuge system which works by spinning the blood to separate it and further concentrate it. This can take approximately 5-6 minutes. While waiting for the blood to separate, Dr. Adibfar applies a topical anesthetic cream to the patient’s face and any other areas of the neck or hands to be injected. It’ll take approximately 20 minutes for the cream to set in before Dr. Adibfar carefully wipes it off to prepare for injecting.

When the centrifuge system has fully separated the blood, it is ready to be immediately re-injected into the patient’s face. The red blood cells are separated from the blood’s Platelet-Rich Plasma, also known as PRP, which is a light golden colour. The plasma is rich in platelets which contain and release growth factors while promoting collagen production—processes that are extremely healing to the body, and when administered quickly regenerates tissue, encourages stem cell generation, tightens pores, reduces lines and wrinkles, promotes new skin and rejuvenates the appearance of the skin.

Dr. Adibfar carefully uses sterilized cannulas to administer the plasma. These cannulas are finer then typical needles, and when administered properly, leave less chance of bruising or swelling. The injections do not take long to administer and begin to heal underlying layers of skin immediately. The plasma also slowly works to encourage the body to continue to regenerate and produce more collagen, allowing for a prolonged effect that may take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to see full results, and with results that can last up to 19 months. Some patients may require a series of treatments for more pressing concerns and sufficient healing.

Depending on the patient, Dr. Adibfar may also combine the patient’s PRP with hyaluronic acid fillers for areas that are more delicate. Together these two components work efficiently while providing results that are beautiful, natural-looking and radiant. This fairly short procedure is perfect for patients leading busy lifestyles who want results without having to take time out of their busy schedules. Depending on skin type, patients may experience very slight bruising and/or swelling which will dissipate within 1-2 days following the procedure.

Patients who’ve had Elements Spa’s Vampire Lift are often return patients for this specific treatment. There is no better treatment that lifts and addresses delicate skin concerns with a material that is 100% natural and made by the patient themselves! Patients often comment that they look and feel years younger and are happy that full results are shown to look natural and never ‘over done.’ The technology and knowledge behind PRP and stem cells has been widely acknowledged and used by surgeons for many years for reasons unrelated to anti-aging. And we are very fortunate that this efficient, natural and revolutionary treatment is now available and widely-accepted as a great healing and anti-aging procedure for patients of all skin types and ethnicities, and for patients looking to address a wide variety of skin concerns.
