Threading is a hair removal technique used by both men and women, especially for small areas such as the eyebrows and ears. Similar to plucking and waxing, threading works by pulling out hairs from the root, resulting in longer lasting results than shaving. Thin thread is twisted and rolled alone the surface of the skin to pull out unwanted hair. Because of its ability to pull out entire rows of hair rather than one at a time, it creates straighter, cleaner lines than plucking alone. Patients with sensitive skin often opt for threading as an alternative to other hair removal systems because the top layers of skin are not traumatized or damaged as a result of the procedure. Results last from 2-8 weeks.
